It makes me wonder how many obituaries are out here waiting to be found – in cities I would never think of looking in! Now I need to find the “family plot” in Shinglehouse. PA.
Receives Word of Brothers’ Death
Rev. and Mrs. Cossaboon received word Thursday afternoon of the death of the latter’s brother , Mr. Watson Pierce, 79, at Bolivar, N. Y., following a short illness.
Funeral services were held in a funeral home in Bolivar, Sunday afternoon, November 23rd, at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. Edward P. Gill officiating. Interment was in the family lot, in the cemetery at Shinglehouse, Pa. The Masonic Lodge, at Shinglehouse, had charge of the services at the grave. Rev. Cossaboon also assisted in the services at the grave.
Surviving besides his wife is a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Brady, of Williamsport, Pa., a son, Robert Pierce, of Bolivar; two sisters, Mrs. Nicholas Van Cossaboon of Silver Springs and Mrs. Warren Kandle of Pitman, N.J.; several grandchildren , and several nieces and nephews.
Among the people attending the services were Rev. and Mrs. N. Van Cossaboon and Edward Ames, Sr., of Silver Springs, and Mrs. William Johnson of Buffalo.
